Tursi (MT)

Websites in Tursi: the Rabatana, the Anglona sanctuary and the valley's products

Tursi is a town with a double soul: an old centre perched above three ravines and a countryside that almost reaches the sea. We help those who welcome visitors, and those who grow and sell the valley's products, get found and receive enquiries.

A village worth telling: the Rabatana and the "Petrizza"

Tursi has held the title of City since 4 May 2006. Its ancient core, the Rabatana, is naturally protected by three ravines formed by landslides; the village then grew towards the valley, linked to the Rabatana by the great stone staircase called the "Petrizza", commissioned by Duke Carlo Doria in 1594. Sights include the church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the remains of the castle of Gothic origin.

If you run a bed and breakfast, a restaurant or guided visits, you need a simple page showing where to sleep, where to eat and what to do nearby. The town is a little under twenty kilometres from the Lucanian Ionian coast: for people searching for "sea and hill towns in Basilicata" that is a strength worth highlighting.

The Anglona sanctuary: a destination for pilgrims and travellers

In the hamlet of Anglona, halfway between Tursi and Policoro, stands the sanctuary of Santa Maria Regina di Anglona, a national monument since 1931. On 17 May 1999 Pope John Paul II raised it to the rank of minor basilica. Tursi's patron saints are Saint Philip Neri and Our Lady of Anglona, with feasts on 26 May and 8 September; on 16 August Saint Roch is celebrated with a procession to the convent.

A page with feast dates, directions and where to stay lets people far away and pilgrims plan their visit. If you run a business near the sanctuary, being found when people search for "Anglona" or "where to stay in Tursi" makes a difference.

PGI Senise pepper and strawberries: Tursi's countryside online

Tursi is one of the twelve municipalities whose whole territory lies in the production area of the PGI Senise pepper, and also one of the nine municipalities in the production area of the PGI Fragola della Basilicata, registered in the Official Journal of the European Union on 5 November 2025.

For a farm this means being able to tell the story of two products with a protected name. We build product pages, online stores and pages for buyers, in Italian and English. The PGI name is only used for certified product: we set up the texts with you, following the protection consortia's rules.
